I have a decayed tooth, can it whiten with the LED method?

Whitening treatments are only available on natural and living teeth. A decayed tooth is dead so it is not affected by a whitening treatment. In the this kind of tooth we do a procedure called internal whitening. After removing the filling of the decayed tooth, we place a special whitening fluid internally and thus bleach it.

I have put resin / porcelain veneers on my front teeth, can I have teeth whitening?

Teeth whitening occurs only in our natural teeth. In the case of resin or porcelain veneers we have no teeth whitening because we will not see the desired effect.

I have gingivitis, can I have teeth whitening?

If there is active gingivitis we should first do a deep cleaning and a few days after the gums have calmed down we can proceed to teeth whitening treatment.

Breastfeeding or I'm pregnant, can I have teeth whitening?

During pregnancy and lactation it is not advisable to whiten teeth.

Do I have any restrictions after the whitening treatment?

The only restriction after a tooth whitening treatment & Mrs. Pearl is that for an hour we can only drink water and nothing else. After one hour we are free to continue with our daily habits.

How often can I repeat the whitening treatment?

Teeth whitening treatments with LED lamp and up to 6% gel (H2O2) are completely safe and can be repeated as often as we wish.

In which age can I do LED tooth whitening treatment?

An LED tooth whitening treatment is safe for anyone over 18 or 16 years of age with the consent of the guardian.

Are there any possible side effects?

No adverse effects were observed following the application of LED teeth whitening therapy to a large number of consumers by an independent UK audit authority.

If I have another type of whitening can I do the LED treatment?

We can go for a tooth whitening treatment with the LED method regardless if we have tried any other method in the past.

Which tooth whitening method do you use?

All our treatments are done with the LED method, it is the most relaxing and safe method of teeth whitening.

How is the procedure done?

We first lie down in one of our special comfortable armchairs. After our doctor measures the original shade of your teeth ,apply the special gel directly to the teeth without the need to use any protectors. Then the LED lamp is placed 5-10 mm from your teeth. The whitening treatment has begun and you have nothing to do but enjoy the zen atmosphere of our clinic and why not close your eyes and sleep. Let the lamp do its job.
* It is known that 25-30 minutes is the ideal sleep time to fully charge our energy in the day (power nap).
Once the lamp goes out, we renew the gel in your teeth and proceed with exactly the same procedure in the next twenty minutes. 60 minutes is enough to get the maximum effect your teeth can deliver.

Is teeth whitening safe for my teeth and gums?

The method we use -LED light- is the safest method there is for two reasons. One, the gel we use is fully in compliance with the European Directive which sets 6% as a maximum bleaching agent (H2O2) limit for a teeth whitening treatment to be safe. Two, the activation lamps use LED technology (cool light) which means we avoid the high temperatures that can hurt our teeth. The specific frequency of the LED lamp activates the gel we use, thus achieving maximum teeth whitening without the need for high temperatures and high H2O2 contents thus without harming the teeth and/or gums.

Will it cause sensitivity or pain to my teeth or gums?

For the above mentioned reasons, our teeth whitening treatments (LED method) are completely safe and painless.

Can I choose the shade I want my teeth to reach?

It is not possible to choose or to pre-determine the shade that your teeth will reach after a teeth whitening treatment. Every person’s teeth are unique so the limit they can reach cannot be predicted or determined.

With the LED method the teeth will reach the brighter white possible. In some cases where teeth are more difficult to whiten, a second session may be needed to achieve maximum results.

My teeth are gray / beige. Can they be white?

Whitening treatment removes extraneous stains from the surface of the teeth (adamantine). If the interior of the teeth (dentin) is grayish or beige, this does not change. There will certainly be several tonnes of teeth brighter but the shade will usually remain.

Will the result be natural?

With LED teeth whitening treatment we cannot even achieve a fake result. The result is always natural. We achieve the whitest shade that our teeth can reach. We do not interfere with the composition of the teeth.

What should I have done before I come for my whitening?

It is advisable to have a thorough cleaning in order to get maximum results.

Does our oral health affect our general health?

My tooth hurts occasionally . Should I visit the dentist immediately?

It is imperative for the dentist to intervene as soon as possible before the pain becomes constant and intolerable, which could mean that we will have to go through difficult and costly procedures such as root canal treatment or even extraction of the tooth.

I get tired of headaches / migraines and I feel my face muscles tired when I wake up. What can I do? Is this related with my teeth?

You are most likely dealing with what is called temporomandibular joint syndrome, that is, oral arthritis. This occurs in people who clench or creak their teeth during sleep or even during the day (bruxism). The treatment is simple and immediate. The mouth guard that you wear during the night will provide immediate relief and over time will eliminate all symptoms.

Do I have black fillings should I change them?

The black fillings contain mercury, which is considered a carcinogen and is gradually released into the mouth. They also dilate, causing cracks in the teeth. For all of these and many more reasons they need to be replaced with new white resin fillings.

I noticed that I have bad breath (halitosis). What can I do to get rid of it?

Oral odor if it is not due to other pathological causes (digestive system diseases etc.) can be attributed either to periodontal diseases (gingivitis, periodontitis) or to active caries or to abscesses and syringes. Therefore, treatment of any of the above causes requires specialist control and immediate treatment. That way we will get rid of the halitosis by eliminating the cause that provokes it.

My gums bleed while brushing.

If your gums bleed, either with a brush or without irritation, they are likely to have inflammation (gingivitis, periodontitis) and require thorough cleaning by the dentist.

My teeth have shifted. What happens and how can I stop and / or fix it?

Do I have white fillings every time they want to renew / replace?

White fillings have an average life expectancy of 3 years. They should therefore be evaluated every 6 months and maintained properly (sanding / polishing) by the dentist and, when required must be replaced with new ones.
